Moroccan Aid: Royal Initiative in Favor of African Countries, an Example of Solidarity and Cooperation (Chilean Information Website)

Santiago – The medical aid sent by Morocco to several African countries following the high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI is “an example of solidarity and regional cooperation in Africa”, Chilean information website “El Periodista” pointed out on Saturday.


This aid reflects a “new phase of Morocco’s cooperation and solidarity which are an authentic and clear expression of the spirit of African brotherhood advocated by HM King Mohammed VI”, said the author of the article, Dr Alvaro Rojas-MarĂ­n, a former minister and former ambassador of Chile to Germany.

This aid includes medical masks, visors, hygiene caps, gowns and medicines, which were manufactured by Moroccan companies, he underlined, adding that the WHO has welcomed this initiative of HM the King, an act of generosity and regional solidarity.

For this former Chilean high official and honorary consul of the Kingdom, “solidarity and cooperation are two great values which must be promoted in these times of pandemic” and “the initiative of the Kingdom of Morocco is an example to follow”.

HM King Mohammed VI has given his high instructions to send a medical aid to several African countries to support their efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The medical aid sent by Morocco to several African countries includes some 8 million medical masks, 900,000 protective visors, 600,000 hygiene caps, 60,000 medical gowns, 30,000 liters of hydroalcoholic gel, 75,000 boxes of chloroquine and 15,000 boxes of Azithromycin.

This solidarity action is part of the implementation of the Initiative launched by HM the King on April 13, 2020, as a pragmatic and action-oriented approach, intended to the brotherly African countries, enabling the sharing of experiences and good practices and aiming to establish an operational framework in order to support their efforts in the various phases of the management of the pandemic.
