Fez : Six Arrested for Violation of State of Health Emergency – Police

Fez – Elements of the Fez police prefecture arrested six individuals for alleged violation of the measures of the state of health emergency and for operating a hookah establishment without permit.


As part of operations meant to ensure the respect of  the State of Health Emeregency, the police of the city controlled two coffee shops, said the National Police (DGSN) in a press release, adding that 15 customers, present at the first establishment, did not comply with the social distancing requirements.

15 Hookahs were seized during this operation, the police said, adding that in the second coffee shop, ten customers did not respect the health security and prevention requirements meant to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The six individuals, namely the manager of the first cafe, a police officer, co-owner of the second cafe, as well as four waitresses, were placed in police custody to complete the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, the DGSN said.
