Strengthening Cooperation Between Tangier Med Port and Port of Valencia Will Bring Africa and Europe Closer, Spanish Official

Tangier – Head of local government of the Valencia region Ximo Puig said, on Wednesday in Tangier, that the strengthening of cooperation between the port of Tangier Med and the port of Valencia will contribute to bringing the African and European continents closer.

The work carried out north of Morocco is impressive and helped secure an important position for the Tangier Med port at the level of the Mediterranean basin and in the world, thus becoming the largest port in Africa, added Puig during a visit to the Tangier Med port accompanied by a delegation of businessmen and representatives of the Valencia port authority.

He expressed, on this occasion, his desire to strengthen cooperation and collaboration with the Tangier Med port, which reflects a Moroccan vision turned towards the future.

“Based on the constant desire for cooperation and sharing, I think there are great opportunities for cooperation,” said the head of the local government of the Valencia region, adding that he is waiting for the visit of officials from the Tangier Med port to Valencia to develop a cooperation agreement between the two ports that will bring the two continents closer across the Mediterranean.

He also said that the Mediterranean is an important element for the complementarity between Morocco and Spain, hence the need to make maritime transport a point of complementarity in a context characterized by the emergence of Africa alongside the European continent, noting that this context offers many opportunities for Mediterranean countries.
