Speaking at an oral questions session at the House of Advisors, Mr. Abdeljalil explained that work is underway with other regions to identify their needs for the mobilization of land required.

The national strategy for the development of logistics competitiveness has identified five axes, ambitious objectives and structured workshops by 2030 to position the Kingdom in global logistics chains.

This strategy aims primarily to develop logistics areas, to streamline the movement of goods, to encourage the emergence of integrated players, to develop and diversify professional skills and ensure good governance of the sector, the minister said.

Mr. Abdeljalil recalled the measures advocated by the new development model and the Court of Accounts to raise the performance indicators of this sector and “redress the major imbalances that affect its competitiveness.”

The logistics sector enjoys great attention from the government, given its fundamental role as a lever for strengthening the economic growth of the Kingdom and its position as a preferred destination for investors, he stated.
