_: The governor of the South-West, Boureima launched on Tuesday March 26, 2024 the first edition of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) in the said region during the rise of national colors within the governorate of Gaoua.

The governor of the South-West region, Boureima Savadogo presided over the raising of the national colors within the confines of the governorate of Gaoua marking the launch of the first edition of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) in the said region. Dressed as ‘faso danfani’ for some, and as ‘koko donda’ for others, the bodies of the South-West, headed by the governor of the region, Boureima Savadogo, took part . After the rise of national colors, the governor read the message from the President of the transition. The days are held on March 26 and October 2 each year for two weeks. The choice of the first date, he stressed, refers to the political commitment of President Thomas Sankara, then Prime Minister,
when he delivered one of his historic speeches, ‘Who are the enemies of the people? », March 26, 1983. As for the second, October 2, 1983, was the day he delivered the political orientation speech (DOP) of the democratic and popular revolution. To do this, according to him, there are simple acts that each Burkinabè can take during these days such as cleaning up the living environment, contributing more to the peace effort, planting trees, donating blood, organizing activities that can strengthen social cohesion, pay taxes, respect the highway code, etc. For the governor, at the end of the 15 days an assessment will be drawn up. ‘We are only at the beginning of these days. In two weeks we will take stock of what each person has been able to do in their service, in their community, in their locality so that together we can set an example for the younger generation,’ he said. he implied. Furthermore, Mr. Savadogo recalled that ‘if we want to be independent, we must work to take charge of our autonomy on all leve
ls’. This is why he invited the entire population to take concrete action, to promote the values of patriotism and citizenship.

Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Transition (ALT), Ini Inkouraba Damien, welcomed this initiative of the President of the Transition, Ibrahim Traoré to institutionalize the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation, which in her opinion will contribute to develop the patriotic spirit among the population. According to him, this patriotic spirit must be cultivated from preschool to university even beyond.
