Moroccan Delegation Participates in NY at IPU-UN Parliamentary Hearing on Education and Sustainable Development

United Nations – A Moroccan delegation took part, on Monday and Tuesday at the UN headquarters in New York, in the annual joint parliamentary hearing of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the United Nations, which is themed “Education as a key to peace and sustainable development: Toward the implementation of SDG 4”.

The joint hearing called for greater political determination to ensure that the Sustainable Development Goal in education, SDG 4, is fully achieved by 2030.

The Moroccan parliamentary delegation to this global event is made up of deputies Hayat Bouffarrachen (Authenticity and Modernity), Noureddine Lazrak (Constitutional Union) and Ahmed Toumi (Istiqlalian group of Unity and Egalitarianism), as well as Advisors Mohamed Salem Ben Massoud and Ahmed Touizi.

On this occasion, the members of the Moroccan delegation highlighted the Kingdom’s broad lines and its efforts aimed at implementing a comprehensive and integrated strategy for the reform of the education system, through giving concrete substance to the principles of quality education for all, equity and equal opportunities, in addition to promoting the values of citizenship, democracy, dialogue and the culture of human rights.
