A working session devoted to the follow-up of the recommendations of the previous meeting held on April 24, was held on Saturday at the Kasbah Palace concerning the situation within the company Snipe-La Presse.

The participants in this working session held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Najla Bouden, reviewed the results of the inventory and the audit of the company’s real estate, in addition to the examination of the proposals relating to the improvement of the governance and the financial situation of Snipe-La Presse.

In this context, the Prime Minister recommended that the necessary measures be taken to develop, as soon as possible, a vision for improving the company’s performance, insisting on the involvement of all stakeholders.

On Wednesday, SNIPE-La Presse employees went on strike to protest against the deterioration of their material conditions. Their salaries, bonuses and social contributions have not been paid, according to the secretary general of the company’s base union, Sofiene Chaabane.

The strikers are also contesting the government’s failure to honour its commitments despite the promises announced after the visit of the President of the Republic to the company’s headquarters on March 11.

Due to the strike, the daily newspapers “La Presse” and “Essahafa”, two newspapers published by SNIPE-La Presse, were not published on Thursday.

On 4 April, Bouden chaired a ministerial working session devoted to the examination of the situation of SNIPE-La Presse.

On this occasion, she took note of the financial situation of the company and the difficulties it is facing, calling for a thorough diagnosis of the company’s situation in order to find solutions to preserve its sustainability and develop its performance.
