Burkina: Women’s month celebrated delayed at Charles De Gaules pediatrics

The Women’s Association of the Charles De Gaulle Pediatric University Hospital Center (A FC) organized last Thursday , on a delayed basis, the commemorative ceremony of the 167th International Women’s Rights Day placed under the theme ‘My business out of service’.

This activity, which is in its 6th edition at the Charles de Gaulle Pediatric University Hospital (CHUP-CDG), saw a general mobilization of female staff headed by the General Director, Cyrille Priscille Kaboret/Ouédraogo .

For the occasion, this mobilization was welcomed by the representative of the dean of women at the hospital, Professor Sonia Kaboret .

She thanked the general director of CHUP-CDG for her leadership which made it possible to set up a friendship allowing the women of the hospital to better organize themselves to promote their socio- professional development.

Professor Sonia spoke last Thursday in Ouagadougou, in the conference room of the CHUP-CD G , on the occasion of the delayed celebration of women’s month.

She also invi
ted her sisters to work towards unity within the association to meet common challenges .

The President of the AFC, Denise Wadba/Ouédraogo , for her part expressed her gratitude to the first manager of the hospital, for having initiated and supported the creation of their association, which is in the process of obtaining its receipt of official recognition .

According to him, the women’s association with its young age carried out, among other things, training sessions on the manufacture of “kaga” detarium juice and soilless cultivation as well as a health day carried out in the premises of CHUP-CDG.

Ms. Wad ba said that as part of the March 8 celebration, several activities were carried out by the AFC .

This includes training on the prevention of back pain and the management of stress in the workplace as well as a conference on the theme of the development of the woman who is a fighting mother and housewife, led by coach Norah K afando .

The President of the AFC also listed some complaints, in favor of th
e well-being of the women of the CHUP-CDG which are, among others, the opening of the crèche and the strengthening of the workforce of the occupational medicine department with female staff.

The first manager of the pediatric hospital, Ms. Cyrille Priscille Kaboret/Ouédraogo, maintained that the female staff representing 62% of the CHUP-CDG staff , have always expressed their bravery by reconciling professional life and home life.

According to her, this theme, which focuses on entrepreneurship , is an invitation to women so that they can develop initiatives , outside of their professional obligations, to not only strengthen family income but also prepare for their retirement .

Note that this 6th edition of the commemoration of Women’s Rights Day was marked by testimonies and sharing of experiences from CHUP-CDG women already engaged in entrepreneurship as well as an exhibition fair of their off-duty activities.
