The head of Eta launches road works in Bobo Dioulasso, for sustainable infrastructure for the benefit of the populations

The Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, launched this Friday morning in Bobo-Dioulasso a major program of development, rehabilitation and asphalting of roads in the towns and countryside of Burkina Faso.

This road infrastructure program responds to the grievances of the populations relating to the problem of internal and external access expressed during the various outings of the Head of State in the regions, according to the Minister in charge of Infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, who delivered the speech of the President of the Transition.

‘Our objective is to decongest, streamline traffic and secure users through the modernization of the urban and interurban road network as part of the development plan for the main arteries of our various cities,’ said Adama Luc Sorgho.

In the Hauts-Bassins region, this program concerns roads in the town of Bobo-Dioulasso and national road No. 8 (RN8), Bobo-Dioulasso-Orodara-Koloko-Mali border.

In Bobo-Dioulasso, the work consists of the development and asphalting o
f several roads including Avenue ChSlons-en-Champagne leading to the dry port, the access road to the Medical Center with Surgical Antenna (CMA) of Dafra.

For the RN8, the rehabilitation of 131 km between Bobo-Dioulasso, Orodara, Koloko and the Mali border with related works is planned.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who spoke to the press after the launch of the works, called on all Burkinabè to contribute to building the roads in order to achieve the path of development.

According to the Head of State, instructions were given to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Accessibility for the establishment of infrastructure works brigades in all regions to ensure the rehabilitation and construction of roads.

‘All Burkinabè must be able to make sacrifices so that we can make our country what we dream of it being. For the quality of the work, we do not want to make cheap tar; we want to create sustainable infrastructure,’ underlined the President of the Transition.

He invited the companies awarded the contracts to work
to deliver quality infrastructure within the prescribed deadlines.

The governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté/Gnanou thanked the Head of State for the construction of these road infrastructures, which will help facilitate the mobility of people and goods in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso.
