An international symposium on “Quality of financial information: challenges for companies, a necessity for investors” will be held in Tunis on May 31.

The event, organised by the Financial Market Council (French: CMF), on the 21st annual meeting of the Institut Francophone de la Régulation Financière (IFREFI) from May 31 to June 2, 2023, will bring together numerous Tunisian and international experts, as well as the President of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

A number of topics will be discussed: “Listing: obligations and opportunities”, “The importance of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for corporate development’ and “the challenges of extra-financial information and performance”.

The meeting is a “recognition of the progress made by the Tunisian financial market in recent years in terms of the quality of regulation, particularly in strengthening the legal and prudential framework in line with current international best practice, which will increase the transparency of transactions and guarantee the rights of local and foreign investors,” said the CMF.

The CMF, which regulates and supervises the Tunisian capital market, currently chairs the Institut Francophone de la Régulation Financière (IFREFI), an international organisation that plays a leading role in strengthening cooperation between financial market regulators in the French-speaking world.
