Speaking at the opening ceremony of the World Airports Conference of the Airports Council International (ACI World/Africa), an event placed under the theme “Everything is possible: discovering opportunities in a changing world”, Abdeljalil reiterated Morocco’s commitment to a safe, efficient, competitive and sustainable air traffic.

Recalling the vital role that civil aviation plays as an essential lever for the promotion of tourism, the opening up of different regions of the world, the facilitation of movement and the strengthening of economic exchanges, Abdeljalil highlighted the measures taken by the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to revive and promote the civil aviation sector, in a context marked by the improvement of the pandemic situation at the national and international levels, and to mobilize all stakeholders in order to ensure a smooth and safe continuation of air transport activities.

He added that the year 2022 was marked by a revival of passenger traffic with a recovery rate of 74% in the Kingdom’s airports during the first 9 months, compared with 2019, while this percentage has exceeded 100% in some national airport structures.

Morocco also works permanently to modernize and develop its civil aviation system through the mobilization of advanced equipment for the management of its airspace, and its global coverage in radar networks that can be integrated into future global systems of civil aviation, he stressed.
