The population of Boulsa (Central-North) responded massively, this Friday, at the “Lion” roundabout in Boulsa to the call of youth, to demand the modification of the constitution of Burkina which it considers obsolete to take into account Burkinabè cultural values.
Through their interventions, the support of the customary chiefdom, women and young people for the modification of the constitution is unequivocal. The president of the municipal youth council of Boulsa, Jean Paul Sawadogo, says he is satisfied with the mobilization of the population to their call.
The appeal of the youth to the population of Boulsa to request the modification of the constitution was characterized by a meeting during which the representative of the head of the canton of Boulsa the Sélognaaba of Boulsa, the president of the municipal coordination of women’s associations Ms. Sandouidi Bibiane Ouédraogo, the president of the municipal youth council of Boulsa Jean Paul Sawadogo and the traditional chief of Sàognaba spoke on the need to modify the constitution of Burkina Faso.
According to them, the current constitution does not take into account our cultural values. Anything which, according to them, leads the population without cultural reference points to row against the law.
To do this, they wanted profound changes to be made to take into account our cultural values such as religious and customary marriages and the role and place of customary chiefdom.
They condemned, among other things, the fact that a child can sue his parents and that people of the same sex marry. Seizing the opportunity, they reaffirmed their unwavering support for the president of the transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré and hoped that the province of Namentenga would benefit from special consideration for its economic, security and social development.
The president of the municipal youth council, satisfied with the strong mobilization of the population, warmly thanked the head of the canton of Boulsa, Naba Sonré, for his involvement in the mobilization, the dance troupes of Kiagba, Yarma and the musician artist for their contributions.
