Parliament discusses number of public issues in presence of PM & members of Salvation Government

The parliament discussed in its session, chaired by parliament Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, in the presence of the President of the National Salvation Government, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers, a number of general issues.

Al-Ra’i stressed the importance of integrating performance between the legislative and executive authorities, in accordance with the organizing tasks and regulations, to develop solutions to reduce imbalances and deficiencies.

He called for uniting efforts to overcome the difficulties and problems resulting from the aggression repercussions and the blockade.

For his part, Bin Habtoor appreciated the efforts of the Speaker , members of Parliament and their interest in discussing important issues related to citizens’ concerns.

He referred to dealing with some issues and problems related to lands in accordance with the legal frameworks, pointing out that the government is working in exceptional circumstances and with a budget that does not exceed 7% percent compared to what was available to previous governments.

Dr. Bin Habtoor touched on the aggression circumventing the declared truces and depriving the people of benefiting from their oil, gas revenues and wealth in light of a phase of no peace and no war.

They stressed the importance of implementing field trips to immunize measles and polio, according to Health Minister commitment before the Council in the session devoted to discussing this.

The parliament stressed the importance of activating the role of the oversight agencies and the judiciary, providing curricula and educational staff in public schools, paying the salaries of male and female teachers, and working to distribute household gas to meet the needs of citizens in the capital and the provinces, and through the mechanisms of the stations designated for that.

In their discussions, parliament members touched on the rise in electricity prices and the need to reconsider them in a manner commensurate with the conditions of citizens, and the abolition of subscription fees from commercial and governmental electricity bills.

The parliament pointed out the need for the government to work according to a governmental program through which it can be held accountable, to strengthen oversight and the sudden descent of the markets, and to activate the role of local authorities, as it is one of the most important elements of institutional building.

The council referred to paying attention to the cleanliness of cities, regulating the movement of vehicles and motorcycles, treating motorcycles as vehicles, and seizing violators of traffic rules.

After an extensive discussion, the parliament approved the continuation of the concerned committees to discuss the issues that were raised during today’s session with the concerned ministers, each case separately.

Starting next Tuesday in the presence of parliament Speaker, the Ministers and the Deputy Speaker of the Council, to develop appropriate solutions and treatments for those issues, and to provide the Council with the results of that.
