‘INAI workshops received positive response among parties concerned by access to information law’


Tunis: Secretary General of the Access to Information Authority (French: INAI), Fethi Methnani, said that “the workshops organized by the body received a positive responsiveness among the various parties concerned by the application of the law relating to the right of access to information.”

Speaking to TAP, on Wednesday, on the sidelines of a workshop held by INAI on evaluating the application of the provisions of organic law n°2016-22 of March 24, 2016, relating to the right of access to information, Methnani indicated that a preliminary report was presented on the evaluation of the civil society, judges and lawyers of this law to be submitted to the administration concerned.

From December 2017 to May 20, 2024, the INAI recorded nearly 8,000 cases related to conflicts on the right of access to information between citizens and the structures subject to the provisions of Organic Law No. 2016-22.

This workshop is part of a series of workshops organized by INAI in a number of regions across the country, incm
luding Tabarka, Sousse and Sfax, in partnership with the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance (DCAF).
