General Directorate of UNESCO: Egyptian candidate Khaled EL-ENANY seeks support from Burkina

The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE received in audience this Thursday afternoon, Khaled EL-ENANY, former Minister in charge of Tourism of the Arab Republic of Egypt and candidate for the position of director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The former Egyptian minister indicated that he was currently on an African tour to meet the authorities of different countries with a view to discussing his electoral program with them.

‘I have just arrived in Burkina and I had the honor of being received by His Excellency the President of the Transition. I presented my candidacy to him, shared with him the broad outlines of my electoral vision and asked His Excellency to support my candidacy as an African candidate,’ said Khaled EL-ENANY upon leaving the audience.

According to him, he also discussed with the Head of State the aspirations, challenges and expectations of Burkina Faso in terms of education, science and culture wit
h a view to including them in his program.

During his stay in Burkina Faso, Khaled EL-ENANY will also meet the Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè from the outside.

The election of the new Director General of UNESCO will take place in 2025.
