FNM Pres. Hails HM the King’s Vision in Preserving National Heritage in All its Aspects

Speaking at a meeting held on the eve of the opening of the 9th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), Qotbi recalled that the Sovereign has kicked off, in 2018 in Fez, the spiritual capital of the Kingdom and symbol of coexistence, the rehabilitation work of the Museum of Islamic Arts in Fez, which will be one of the best museums in the world, as well as the work of realization of the museum of Jewish culture in Fez.

 

“These two projects reflect the royal vision to preserve and protect the national heritage in all its forms of expression for the benefit of future generations and achieve the best possible knowledge and understanding between peoples,” said the president of the FNM, who was speaking at the meeting held under the sign “Culture as a sine qua non of peace. Museums as places of wonder, discovery, openness to others and dialogue between cultures”.

 

Qotbi said that Morocco has always been an example to follow in the world in terms of coexistence, openness and intercultural dialogue.

 

Referring to the hosting by the Kingdom of the 9th World Forum of the UNAOC, he stressed that this event is an opportunity to strengthen the union to defend the values of coexistence, tolerance, exchange ideas on intercultural dialogue and cultural creativity and consolidate the place of Morocco on the international scene.

 

This meeting took place in the presence of High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations, Miguel Angel Moratinos, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Salem Ben Mohammed El Malek, André Azoulay, Advisor to HM King Mohammed VI, the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, as well as several foreign ambassadors accredited in Morocco, and other personalities.
