The government has declared the project to build a post-primary and secondary education establishment in the Bonheur-ville district located in sector 31 of the commune of Ouagadougou to be of urgent public utility. At a cost of 285.26 million FCFA, this infrastructure will be built in an area where the nearest existing establishments are located more than 10 km away.
The report of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday indicates that the government adopted ‘a draft decree declaring of urgent public utility, the project to construct a post-primary and general secondary education establishment in Bonheur-ville in sector 31 in district n°7 of the commune of Ouagadougou for the benefit of the Ministry of National Education, literacy and the promotion of national languages’
Likewise, newly divided areas are faced with a lack and/or insufficiency of educational infrastructure to cover all levels of education.
‘This is the case of Bonheur-ville which does not have a public general secondary education establishment
. The closest establishments are the mixed high schools of Gounghin and municipal Venegré, all located more than 10 km from the area,’ laments the document.
Faced with this situation, this project to build a general education establishment has been initiated, he adds.
The land concerned by the construction of this establishment is located in the land reserve forming parcel 00, lot 38, section 882 with an area of ????approximately 34,575 m2, he specifies.
In order to allow the project to be carried out, it seems wise for the State to carry out an urgent expropriation of assignees in view of the certain public utility, mentions the report.
‘The overall cost of the project is estimated at 285,262,000 CFA francs, financed by the State budget, fiscal year 2024,’ he specifies.
The adoption of this decree allows the expropriation of the said land for reasons of public utility with a view to the construction of a post-primary and general secondary establishment in Bonheur-ville, concludes the document.
