Burkinabe Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla announced on Tuesday the possibility of setting up community justice in Burkina Faso to relieve the courts.

“We are studying the possibility of setting up a form of community justice, to unclog the courts, and make justice more accessible,” Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tembela announced on Tuesday before the Transitional Legislative Assembly.

In his speech on the situation of the Nation, the PM indicated that the Bobo-Dioulasso courthouse ransacked during the popular uprising of 2014 is being repaired and will soon be made available to litigants.

He added that premises have been found for the operation of the Ouagadougou Administrative Court of Appeal, and a new building is under construction to increase the capacity of the Ouagadougou Court of Appeal.

For the head of the Burkinabe government, “the fight for good governance and against corruption is underway and it is difficult to dispute the government’s will on this point”.

“Those who think that the fight against corruption is not engaged, or that there are corrupt people at large are strongly invited to contribute. They can seize the institutions of the State, and even the Prime Minister who will follow up, if it considers the elements serious enough, ”he added.

Me Apollinaire Kyelem from Tembela said that “we receive complaints and denunciations, often anonymous. This makes it impossible to contact the authors for possible clarifications. It is not a question of imagining or assuming facts of corruption, but of providing evidence that can enable justice to do its job”.

The speech on the situation of the Nation is an exercise provided for by the Constitution of Burkina Faso which provides in its article 109 that “the Prime Minister exposes directly to the deputies, the situation of the Nation”.

During this presentation followed by debate but without a vote, the Head of Government takes stock of government action and outlines the prospects
