Burkina: Evangelical Churches invite their faithful to observe the day of fasting for peace

The Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions has invited its faithful to observe May 20, the national day of prayer and fasting, announced by the government in favor of peace and social cohesion. in Burkina Faso.

“In view of the evolution of the strategy for the reconquest of our territory, the FEME (Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions) in concert with the customary and religious authorities, has decided to organize a national day of fasting and prayer for peace and stability in Burkina Faso”, declared the president of the FEME, Pastor Henri Yé, in a press release dated May 3, 2023.

All evangelical churches in Burkina Faso are invited to this day of fasting and prayer to be held on Saturday May 20, 2023 on the 75th anniversary of the Assemblies of God from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Kadiogo region, he said.

The provincial sections are invited to organize themselves to observe the day of fasting and prayer in their localities, concluded Pastor Henri Yé.

As a reminder, Burkina Faso has been subjected to terrorist attacks for eight years which have taken the lives of several people and caused the displacement of two million others.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in power since September 2022, has called for a synergy of actions to counter evil.
