Burkina: An entertainment club for seniors will be open this week (promoter)

The opening of a senior club for the benefit of senior citizens, in order to allow them to have a framework for exchange and relaxation to spend “their old days”, is scheduled for the week, the promoter announced on Friday.

According to promoter Mrs. Régine Zombra, this recreational setting will allow seniors to carry out various activities, through board games such as checkers, lido, cards, etc. and have fun with each other.

Ms. Zombra spoke Friday in Ouagadougou, on the creation of a senior club, a framework to allow the elderly to be able to live “their old days”.

According to her, gymnastics sessions will be carried out every Tuesday and Thursday for them, anything, according to her, which will contribute to the maintenance of their health.

“The senior club will be a place of memories, where the elderly will vibrate to the melodies of their times, every Friday and Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and admission is free,” she said.

According to Ms. Régine Zomba, the club will be a showcase where doctors will deliver communications on themes meeting the needs of “Grandmas and Grandpas” and providing them with the necessary advice.

She pointed out that the club plans outings and picnics, outside the city of Ouagadougou, in order to allow them to discover other horizons.

On the subject of the dishes offered, Ms. Zombra made the case of local dishes, labeled “bicycle” chickens, drinks with a particularity of herbal teas (lemongrass, basil) which contain many virtues for humans.

“During the holidays, the Center Espérance-coupe-couture in zone 1 offers its premises for the development of the various activities for the benefit of the elderly,” she added.

Seizing the opportunity, Ms. Zombra called for support for goodwill and technical and financial partners (PTF) to support the senior club in the provision of board games such as checkers, scrabble etc.

She also asked everyone to accompany her with mini-buses for the various outings for the benefit of seniors.

The senior club will be housed in the premises of the Center-Espérance-coupe-couture in Zone 1, after the Charles De Gaulle pediatric hospital, going towards the East interchange.

It is at the 6th street on the right, towards the Sainte Collecte high school.
