Ouagadougou: The president of the International Foundation for Education, Health, and Hydraulics in Burkina (F.IN.E.SA.HB), Dr. Issa Ouédraogo, indicated Monday to Ouagadougou that its structure wants to support the authorities in achieving energy autonomy through the construction of a photovoltaic solar power plant, as part of a public-private partnership (PPP).

The construction of the photovoltaic solar power plant is a project set up by the International Foundation for Education, Health and Hydraulics in Burkina (F.IN.E.SA.HB) in partnership with a financial group ‘gobal Eden’ which has its headquarters in Texas in the USA, indicated the president of the International Foundation for Education, Health, and Hydraulics in Burkina (F.IN.E.SA.HB), Dr Issa Ouédraogo.

Dr Ouédraogo had just discussed the project with the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Me Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla.

According to him, the project will be carried out under the public-private partnership format, that is to say that ‘the global
Eden group will finance the construction of the solar power plant as part of the partnership with the foundation and the Burkinabè State’ .

Dr Issa Ouédraogo specified that this plant will be built on 850 ha and will ‘solve our energy problems’.

For the representative of the ‘global Eden’ financial group, Hervé Kiteba Simo, the project was validated and accepted by the technical and financial partners ‘who really want to move forward and support it’.

‘The particularity is that global Eden comes and wants (…) to work for Burkina in the interest of Burkina by creating a local company which will manage this project in partnership with the foundation to be able to provide its solutions’ which will make it possible to ‘respond strongly to autonomy in terms of energy needs,’ he added.

According to him, the construction of this photovoltaic solar power plant will cost approximately 855 billion FCFA.
