Archives of Morocco, Archives of Yugoslavia Ink MoU

This agreement, signed as part of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the former Yugoslavia, was inked by the Director of Archives of Morocco, Jamaa Baida, and the Director General of Archives of Yugoslavia, Milan Terzik.

It takes on a special character in view of the strong diplomatic relations that have linked Morocco to the former Yugoslavia and which have continued with Serbia, Mr. Baida told the press, noting that “the two institutions have decided to strengthen their cooperation in the field of archives”.

He also noted that the institution of Archives of Morocco can benefit from the “rich” experience of Yugoslavia, then Serbia, in the area of archives, while emphasizing that this agreement will contribute to the strengthening of cultural and scientific relations between the two institutions and, therefore, between the two countries.

For his part, Mr. Terzik said, in a similar statement, that the signing of this memorandum marks the starting point of cooperation between the two institutions, emphasizing the importance of developing research relating to archives.

He added that Archives of Yugoslavia has published a brochure documenting the various events that brought together Morocco and the former Yugoslavia.
