The agreement was initialed by Minister of Equipment and Water Nizar Baraka, National Museums Foundation (FNM) President Mehdi Qotbi, and the Director General of the National Agency for Public Facilities (ANEP), Zineb Benmoussa.

It is part of the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to develop culture and the arts through the construction and development of museums in all regions of the Kingdom.

It aims to support the Foundation in strengthening a diversified offer of museum infrastructure in the capital of the Kingdom, Rabat, by the National Agency for Public Facilities.

Under this agreement, the Agency will put in place all the provisions and measures necessary for the completion of this project by ensuring quality, cost control and compliance with deadlines.

The signing of this important agreement is in line with the Royal High Directions to establish culture as a key element of any development, Baraka told M24, MAP’s 24-hour rolling news channel.

It also comes in the wake of the implementation of the New Development Model, in which culture occupies a major place as an engine of development, he added.

This agreement will strengthen the outreach of Rabat, capital of culture and city of light, through the establishment of this museum complex, he added.

For his part, FNM President welcomed the signing of this agreement for the development of a new building for the dissemination of culture in Morocco.

Under this agreement, the Ministry of Equipment and Water will accompany the FNM in carrying out this major cultural project.

This museum complex will be the beating heart of Moroccan culture and a pioneering project in Africa, he added.
