The province of Tuy, Hauts-Bassins region has chosen from February 17 to March 24, 2024, its representatives for the regional final stages of the Union of School and University Sports of Burkina Faso (USSU- BF). 17 teams and 82 athletes will defend the colors of the province in these final stages.

17 teams and 82 athletes will represent the Tuy province in the regional finals of the School and University Sports Union of Burkina Faso (USSU-BF). Candidates from the U12, U15, U17 and U20 categories obtained their qualification during the provincial qualifiers which took place from February 17 to March 24, 2024.

Of the 17 teams (9 for boys and 8 for women) qualified, there are 7 in football, 6 in handball and 4 in volleyball.

In handball, the teams from the Tuy provincial high school overcame the competition, winning in all categories. Of the 82 athletes selected, there are 30 in wrestling, 12 in triple jump, 12 in long jump, 8 in the 100 m, and 4 respectively in the 80 m, 400 m, 800 m and 1500 m.

According t
o the Provincial Director (DP) in charge of sport in Tuy, Guénolé Zapsonré, the competitions took place without major incidents. He indicated that for this 2023-2024 season, 11 schools took part in the elimination phases in the province of Tuy.

Zapsonré suggested that the competition was tough between the teams and the different athletes. The Tuy DP/sport was delighted with the level of the candidates, particularly in football.

However, he judged the level of handball below expectations. declared Mr. Zapsonré.
