Zamo: Last Friday, May 3 marked a significant turning point for the rural commune of Zamo, in the province of Sangui©, with the installation of Belibi© Ido, the very first Dozo BS of the commune and the province, noted the AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place in the presence of the High Commissioner of the province, Talari Germaine Ouoba, demonstrating the importance attached to this traditional figure. Belibi© Ido was chosen to take on this crucial role within the community.
As Dozo BS, his primary mission will be to ensure the well-being of his fellow citizens. This appointment is in recognition of the values and skills traditionally associated with dozos.
Dozos are respected figures in several Burkinabe communities. They are known for their bravery in the face of challenges, their deep communion with nature, and their remarkable hunting skills. Beyond these aspects, they are often seen as guardians of traditions and agents of social cohesion.
