Yatenga: New high school graduates made aware of the offers from public and private universities in Burkina Faso in Ouahigouya

Ouagadougou: The regional directorate of post-primary and secondary education (DREPS) of the North organized information days, educational and professional guidance (JIOSP) in Ouahigouya from July 9 to 11, 2024 with the aim of raising awareness among new graduates (BAC) of study opportunities in public and private universities in Burkina Faso.

The choice of a sector and knowledge of professional training opportunities are assets for the success of pupils and students after school exams.

Academic and professional guidance helps pupils and students in their training choices.

It is in this sense that the DREPS du Nord, in collaboration with the education, information, educational and professional guidance and scholarships service (SIO-SPB), organized from July 9 to 11, 2024 the 8th academic and professional orientation days for the benefit of new high school graduates from the Northern region in Ouahigouya.

A framework for direct exchanges with technicians from guidance services and representatives of privat
e universities in Burkina.

For the regional director of post-primary and secondary education (DREPS) in the North, Hippolyte Ouédraogo, ‘these days aim, initially, to allow new graduates to have a good knowledge of the opportunities offered by universities public and private in Burkina in terms of professional training. Secondly, it is an opportunity to help these new graduates make a good choice of professional training. We invite the winners to have attentive ears with all the technical services present here.’

The secretary general of the region, Kouliga Albert Zongo, first welcomed all the stakeholders for the efforts made to hold the orientation days and urged the winners to take advantage of the benefits of these days by following with lots of interest in the different communications.

The various winners from the four provinces of the region had fruitful discussions with those responsible for orientation. An initiative welcomed by these new high school graduates.

‘We are very happy with how these day
s went. Having the diploma is very good but making a good choice is much better because these choices will allow us to prepare well for our professional life,’ indicated the spokesperson for the new graduates, Priscilla Laure Da.
