Namentenga: The WendKouni association, in partnership with the Community Resilience Project for Agro-sylvo-pastoral Households (RESICOM), provided animals and food supplies to 219 internally displaced persons from Dargo, Boala, and Boulsa municipalities in Namentenga province. The distribution event was overseen by the High Commissioner of Namentenga province, Adama Conseiga.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the beneficiaries each received three goats, comprising two females and one male, and two sheep, along with food inputs. The ceremony was attended by key regional and local officials, including the regional director of communications for the Centre-North region, Safiatou Oubda, and Blaise Som©, the representative of the donor consortium Solidar Suisse Burkina Faso/SOS Sahel.
Adama Conseiga encouraged the recipients to emulate the success of previous beneficiaries. The High Commissioner also commended Dieudonn© Nonaba, president of the Wendkouni association, for his leadership and the RESICOM project for its essential contributions.
Blaise Som© emphasized that the project aims to enhance the resilience of households, particularly IDPs affected by security issues and climate change in the region. Ganda Kargougou, representing the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the support and shared his positive experience with the initiative.
The president of the Wendkouni association, Dieudonn© Nonaba, acknowledged the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the successful execution of the project. Adama Conseiga highlighted the significant impact of the project in supporting original villages and commended Ganda Kargougou for his achievements, urging others to replicate his success.
