Tuy: The High Commissioner of Tuy, Issiaka Segda, emphasized the importance of fulfilling tax obligations during a provincial ceremony for the raising of the national colors. This event took place at the provincial tax directorate of Tuy, where Segda urged the population to adhere to deadlines for tax declarations and payments.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner highlighted the significance of taxes in the nation’s development. He encouraged citizens to perceive taxes as investments for the collective future, stating that each contribution aids in reducing inequalities and supporting the vulnerable. Segda emphasized that taxes are crucial for financing Burkina Faso’s infrastructure and social services, including roads, schools, health centers, and basic necessity subsidies.
Segda also praised the Tuy Provincial Tax Directorate’s staff for their integrity and professionalism, which are vital for maintaining taxpayer trust and fair tax distribution. During the ceremony, the provincial director of taxes, Abdoulaye Taousa, expressed his satisfaction in hosting the event and introduced his department’s history and missions. Established as a tax office in 2000, it evolved into the provincial tax directorate in 2012.
Mr. Taousa explained that the department’s responsibilities include applying tax regulations and promoting tax awareness across Tuy. The upcoming flag-raising ceremony is set for October 6, 2025, at the provincial directorate for controlling public markets and financial commitments of Tuy.
