Tunisian subsidiary of Korean YURA Corporation to be expanded

A programme to expand the Tunisian subsidiary of the Korean Group “YURA Corporation,” specialised in the manufacture of wires, insulated bundles and cable harnesses and located in the industrial zone of Kairouan, was announced Friday in Tunis by the Group’s officials.

The announcement was made during a meeting held at the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia) seat, between its Director General Jalel Tebib and YURA Corporation CEO Park Jonghwan, Managing Director of the Tunisian subsidiary Kim Jong Gu and Commercial Attaché to the Korean Embassy in Tunis Jih Jong Hyun.

The meeting focused on the practical modalities to carry out the extension of YURA Corporation Tunisia and was the occasion to reaffirm the group officials’ interest in the Tunisian site.

Tebib affirmed the agency’s support for this expansion operation and its wish to replicate the successful experience of the establishment of YURA Corporation in Tunisia to other Korean companies, particularly those operating in the automotive components industry.

Established in Kairouan since November 2007, YURA Corporation Tunisia employs more than 2,000 people.

In addition to its 7 subsidiaries in South Korea, YURA Corporation is present in China, Vietnam, Slovakia, Serbia, Russia and Tunisia.

This South Korean giant, created in 1995, is considered a leader in the automotive industry and supplies major car manufacturers, namely Hyundai and Kia Motors.
