Tunisia represented by three artists in Dak’Art 2024

Tunisia will be represented by three visual artists; namely, Youness Ben Simane, Slimen Elkamel and Faten Rouissi, at the international exhibition of the 15th edition of the Biennial of Contemporary African Art (Dak’Art 2024).

The event will feature 58 artists from Africa and the Diaspora, nearly 40 countries represented, new exhibition spaces and almost 400,000 visitors expected and special projects from May 16 to June 16, 2024 in Dakar, according to the Biennale Dakar website.

The international exhibition will therefore be structured around the theme “the Wake,” in an immersive journey, thanks to an intimate, narrative and serious scenography.

This selection embodies extraordinary African creativity, with a diversity of mediums, techniques and artistic universes. From drawing to virtual reality, including sound, sculpture and even photography, the selection process for the international exhibition was guided by a commitment to inclusiveness, the search for a balance that transcends borders and celebrates
the rich tapestry of artistic voices.

Artists from the African diaspora bring their experiences as Africans and Afrodescendants across the world, and will rub shoulders with artists who live and work on the African continent.
