The National Council of the Tunisian Medical Association signed on Wednesday an agreement with the Libyan General Union of Doctors according to which Tunisian doctors working between Tunisia and Libya must, from now on, have authorisation to practice in Libya. The president of the council, Ridha Dhaoui told TAP that a joint committee was formed between the Tunisian Medical Council and the General Union of Libyan Doctors in order to issue these authorizations limited to periods of practice of a few months. The agreement fills the legal vacuum resulting from the practice of Tunisian doctors in Libya outside the legal framework of the host country, he said. The signing of the agreement took place in the presence, in particular, of the president of the general union of Libyan Doctors, Mohamed Ali El-Ghouj and the chargé d’affaires of the Libyan embassy to Tunisia, Mustapha Gdara.
