The High Commissioner for the province of Sourou Salif Traoré presented on Thursday, July 6, 2023, a letter of congratulation, a school bag full of school supplies and the sum of one hundred thousand Francs FCFA, from the Governor of Boucle du Mouhoun, to the best student in the region of the Fatimata Dao region.
Student Fatimata Dao is the best student in the province of Sourou and the Boucle du Mouhoun region and 2nd best student nationally with an average of 19/20 at the BEPC session 2023.
It was in the premises of the High Commission of Sourou in Tougan that Fatimata Dao received on Thursday July 6, 2023 from the hands of the High Commissioner of the province of Sourou Salif Traoré, a letter of congratulations, a school bag full school supplies and the sum of one hundred thousand CFA Francs from the Governor of the Boucle du Mouhoun region.
In his letter of congratulations and encouragement addressed to Fatimata Dao, the Governor writes: “You have not only been declared admitted, but better with an average that defied our imagination and blew the whole region away”.
The first person in charge of the region continues “This feat can hardly leave anyone indifferent, especially since it hoists you to first place at the regional level (…). Your results, which are proof that you are a brilliant and curious mind, clearly make you the symbol of regional pride…”.
For the High Commissioner of the province of Sourou Salif Traoré, the success of Fatimata Dao is a credit to the province of Sourou, especially since it is the best in a province tested by the security situation.
On behalf of the governor, he congratulated the education stakeholders, education partners and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) who spared no effort for the success of the 2022-2023 school year in Sourou and especially for the achievement of these results which give complete satisfaction.
He further urged the public to remain in this dynamic of resilience. He promised that thanks to the prayers of our religious denominations and the selflessness of our FDS and Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), the province will soon regain its former glory.
The Provincial Director of Post-Primary and Secondary Education, Mamadou Ky noted the academic performance of the winner and indicated that through this success, Fatimata Dao gave visibility to the work that education actors in Sourou are doing.
He also declared his availability for usage advice. He also congratulated the education actors of the province, who have met the challenges of the insecurity imposed on the province through their resilience.
To the administrative authorities of Sourou, Mamadou Ky expressed his gratitude for the tireless efforts they are making to keep the province still standing. He also thanked the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) who have worked tirelessly to ensure that students and teachers work in peace.
Parents as well as the winner, visibly moved, did not stop thanking them. The ceremony ended with blessings and prayers from the heads of religious denominations for peace in Burkina Faso.
