Tinzawatène attack: Burkina and Niger reaffirm their support for Mali


The spokesperson for the Burkinabè government, Rimbtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo, and the Nigerien Minister of Defense, General Salifou Mody, presented yesterday, Thursday, in Bamako, the condolences of their country to the Malian people after the terrorist attack in Tinzawatène.

Following the terrorist attack against the Malian Armed Forces in Tinzawatène last week, the other states of the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) presented their condolences and expressed their compassion to President Assimi Goïta and the Malian people .

The delegation of the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States, composed of the Minister of National Defense of Niger, General Salifou Mody, and the Burkinabè minister, government spokesperson, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, was received in audience yesterday Thursday at the Koulouba Palace by the Head of State of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goïta.

According to General Salifou Mody, the objective of this visit is to reflect the support of Presidents Abdourahamane Tiani
and Ibrahim Traoré to the Malian people, but also to reaffirm their commitment to unitedly combat terrorism in all its forms in the AES countries. .

For his part, Minister Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo indicated that this visit testifies to solidarity and unity between the Sahel states.

According to Rimbtalba Ouédraogo, the AES space includes three peoples, but one and the same destiny. This is why, he continued, the fight is the same in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

‘We leave with reassuring messages, above all an intact determination that we must transmit to our respective heads of state in Niger and Burkina Faso,’ concluded the spokesperson for the Burkinabe government.
