The Great Wall of China, with a total length of 21,198.98 km, was built in the 14th century to defend the people against European and Asian invasion. Every day, this tourist site attracts several nationals and foreigners, who come to immerse themselves in its history.

The Great Wall of China was built in 1368 (14th century) by the Qin Dynasty to protect the Chinese people against invasion by the Japanese, Belgians and French.

This tourist site, with a total length of 21.18.98 km, located in Beijing, the political capital of the country, attracts several domestic and foreign visitors per day, who come to soak up Chinese history.

According to tourist guide Zuo Chao, thousands of Chinese paid with their lives for the construction of this wall, which has become a UNESCO heritage site.

‘Like any visitor, we are truly impressed by the grandeur of the work,’ said Christine Coulibaly, journalist on Burkina national television.

Like her, 24 other Burkinabè journalists also visited this fortress, as part of a trai
ning seminar on the development of China.

The television news presenter noted that the immensity of the work reflects the greatness of the Chinese people, in view of the work carried out, brick by brick or stone by stone.

‘When we know the Chinese environment which is only mountains, taking all this time to build this wall, it really testifies to the discipline and its self-sacrifice in taming nature,’ she continued.

She also clarified that internal tourism is a reality in China.
