These days, organized by the “Buud-Yam” association of Zorgho, aim to raise the awareness of the populations on the need to drink from the sources of tradition and to promote local cultures.

Women’s cycling race, stories, songs, traditional dances, games of rejoicing, shopping street (dassandaaga), film screenings and communication provided these days.

The opening ceremony saw strong mobilization from the neighborhood and surrounding populations, administrative, traditional and religious authorities.

It was marked by speeches, animations of traditional troops and the visit of stands by the authorities.

It was also sponsored by the representative of the customary chief of Zorgho, his majesty Naba Sanem.

The customary chief of Nabmayaoghin thanked the organizers and hoped that other editions would be held for the happiness of the populations.

“The observation is painful today when we see that the values and traditions that guarantee the dignity and cohesion of our societies.” said the president of the Buud-yam association, Raogo Jean Claude Ouédraogo.

According to him, in towns and villages, men become less and less attached to their families.

According to Mr. Ouedraogo, many children in the cities do not know their villages of origin, nor the names of their grandparents, even less the meaning of their surname.

According to him, they do not know their own history and yet they know those of other distant lands.

“Convinced that we can avoid the worst by saving the essential of what remains of our traditions and sacred values”, he continued.

Raogo Jean Claude Ouédraogo clarified that the association was created in 2016 and the Ra-yim-buudu cultural days were launched to raise people’s awareness of the need for a return to ancestral values.

“We owe a debt to our ancestors. If we despise our culture in favor of other imported cultures, our ancestors will hold us accountable. ” he said.

For him, beyond the traditional school, it is necessary to create in each village a center called “Kéoogo” to promote cultural education, like the “Kéoogo” of Nambmayaoghin.

He invited all customary chiefs to think about it and to work to unite children around traditional values.

The representative of the sponsor, Edouard Balcoulga thanked the sponsor, Eric Bougouma for his availability and his attachment to culture.

The representative of the Chief of Zorgho, Mahamadi Ouédraogo congratulated the goodwill who contributed to the realization of this activity.

Mr. Ouédraogo hoped that the activity could be held regularly each year and asked the customary chiefs to support the initiative for the promotion of culture in Zorgho.

The young people of Nabmayaoghin presented a certificate of recognition to the president of the Buud-yam association, Raogo Jean Claude Ouédraogo for his attachment to culture.
