Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè Copyright Office (BBDA) inaugurated its new headquarters in Bobo-Dioulasso, on the sidelines of the 21st edition of the National Culture Week.

The Minister in charge of Culture and Arts, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, yesterday Tuesday presided over the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of the Burkinabè Copyright Office, in the company of his counterpart from Niger, Amadou Abdourahamane.

Satisfied with this achievement, Minister Ouédraogo recalled that the government is ready to support artists who care about peace and security. He said, his ministry ‘will not skip on any means to always provide support to creators, whose contributions to the return of peace and security are eagerly awaited.’

For his part, the general director of BBDA, Hamed Patindeb
a Lega asked artists and agents to make good use of it. ‘You have free access to this space which belongs to you, which also makes you responsible for its good management and maintenance. I can reassure you that the Western regional management team remains available at any time to support you in carrying out your projects, and to discuss your concerns with you,’ he said to them.

The BBDA is a public establishment created in 1985 with the mission of protecting and collectively managing the rights of creators of literary and artistic works, and holders of related rights, whether Burkina Faso or foreigners.

Its management of Bobo-Dioulasso covers the Hauts Bassins region as well as those of the Cascades, the South-West and the Boucle du Mouhoun.
