Tenkodogo: On the third day of the Regional Crafts Fair (SARA), held at the Place de la Nation in Tenkodogo, administrative officials and department heads visited the exhibition stands this Sunday to encourage exhibitors. Between the first commercial contracts and the gradual mobilization of the public, craft stakeholders say they are satisfied with the way the event went.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was led by the President of the Association of First Officials (APRESER), Bourbila Pierre Silga, and the Director General of the Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair (SIAO), Dr. ‰ric Bassol©. The delegation visited several exhibition centers, and Mr. Silga emphasized the need for greater commitment to local consumption. “We came to show our support for the artisans who, through their expertise, contribute to the economic development of Burkina Faso. We call on the population to come and discover their products and to support them through responsible purchasing,” he declared.
This visit also served as an opportunity to highlight the role of the craft sector in job creation, the development of local resources, and the strengthening of the national economy. At the Radiodiffusion-T©l©vision du Burkina (RTB) stand, the promotional kiosk staff are hoping for better attendance in the coming days. “We are here to promote RTB’s services and products. We are confident in the number of visitors in the coming days,” assured one staff member.
SARA also serves as a business platform for young entrepreneurs. Traor© Service ‰levage, a company attending for the first time, said it received several orders and promises of partnership. “We’re already leaving with many contacts. This encourages us to continue our participation,” explained its manager, based in Ouagadougou.
For SIAO Director General Dr. ‰ric Bassol©, the initial results demonstrate the importance of the show as a space for business promotion and networking. “SARA fosters encounters between designers, economic operators, institutions, and consumers,” he said. Monday will be dedicated to the BanKuy region, guest of honor at this 5th edition, before hosting the 6th. The objective is to strengthen interregional cooperation and consolidate artisanal value chains.
