Tapoa: Traders and customary and religious authorities of Diapaga offered 1,800,000 FCFA and food to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland. The communal coordination of Diapaga traders expressed its patriotic commitment by coming to the aid of the Diapaga army auxiliaries on Saturday, November 2, 2024. They contributed a sum of 1,400,000 FCFA to support the patriots.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was chaired by the province’s secretary general, Martin Zoundi, and took place in the conference room of Diapaga town hall. The communal coordination of traders aimed to show solidarity with the army auxiliaries (VDP) of the commune, who are facing numerous challenges related to terrorism. This show of support was demonstrated in the presence of the VDP, the FDS, and the customary and religious authorities.
Miabissougli Couldiati, president of the coordination, stated that this gesture was in response to the call from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, urging citizens to
engage and show solidarity with the Fighting Forces for the nation’s survival. The President expressed hope that the funds would be utilized wisely to support the VDPs, who are committed to tackling the challenges of insecurity.
In addition to the traders’ contribution, the customary and religious authorities voluntarily contributed 400,000 FCFA, along with three bags of corn and two bags of beans, to supply the VDP canteen. This act of support was accompanied by prayers and blessings for the fighters.
Martin Zoundi, the Secretary General of the province, praised the initiative of the Forces vives, which not only comforts the VDP but also supports the state’s efforts to ensure optimal working conditions for combat forces. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the provincial and national authorities of Faso, acknowledging the continuous support following successive events in the province.
Zoundi emphasized that this gesture would galvanize the VDP, reinforcing their knowledge that they can rely on the people
of Diapaga, who are both concerned and appreciative of the efforts made by the fighting forces on the ground.
