The gold medal was earned by Soufiane Assbi (87 kg), while Abdelbasset Wassfi (-63 kg) won the bronze medal.
Assbi won in the final against his British opponent, Caden Cunningham, thanks to the golden point, after the end of the fight on a tie score (6-6).
For his part, Wassfi lost in the semifinals against Belgian Jawad Achab (10-9).
In the women’s category, Houda Heddadi (-57 kg) has seen his journey stopped at the quarters, after her defeat against Belgium’s Rahila Assimani (6-0).
The same fate was for Safia Saleh (-62 kg), who lost in the quarterfinals against Canada’s Andric Leonarda (13-7).
