The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Burkina Faso, Youssef Slaoui welcomed Thursday the abolition of the visa between the two countries which will promote integration and the free movement of people and goods.

” We also congratulated the bilateral decisions on the abolition of the visa of the two brotherly and friendly countries”, suggested the diplomat of the Kingdom of Morocco in Burkina Faso, Youssef Slaoui, on leaving the audience Thursday, with the president of the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT), Dr Ousmane Bougouma.

For the Moroccan ambassador, the initiative put forward by his country constitutes a “very symbolic cooperation action in terms of sub-regional integration”.

Mr. Slaoui noted that sub-regional integration begins first with freedom of movement between two peoples and then economic aspects and services.

Note that since December 22, 2022, Burkinabè no longer need to undertake visa procedures to travel to Morocco.

According to the Cherifian diplomat, the meeting with the president of the ALT, Ousmane Bougouma, made it possible to take stock of the state of progress of bilateral cooperation and to identify prospects.

According to him, the exchanges focused, among other things, on the future projects of diplomacy and the increase in the quota of scholarships for the benefit of Burkinabè students.

“Our relations are excellent and benefit from a virtuous dynamic which has ambitions to move forward to explore other horizons”, he argued .
