Sourou: The priest and parishioners of the Catholic parish of Tougan donated equipment worth a total of 425,400 CFA francs on Monday to benefit the presidential initiative Faso Mebo. The donation, consisting of two tons of cement – one of which was offered by the priest personally – a cart, a wheelbarrow, and twenty-four shovels, was handed over by the parish priest, Father Daniel Zerbo, accompanied by the president of the Catholic Christian community, Isaiah Zerbo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the total cost of the equipment amounts to 425,400 F, of which 115,000 F comes from the priest and 310,400 F from contributions from the faithful. ‘There was a special collection at the church, where the parishioners got involved, and it was this fund that allowed us to make this donation,’ explained Mr. Zerbo, president of the Christian community.
Father Zerbo emphasized the importance of local involvement and solidarity in national development. ‘If each of us becomes aware and motivated to build Faso, we can do it without depending on outside aid,’ he stated. Contributions to the presidential initiative Faso Mebo, in the province of Sourou, are received daily at the municipal police station in Tougan.
