Solenzo: The Security Defense Forces (FDS), the Homeland Defense Volunteers (VDP), and the civilian population have come together to initiate 72 hours of activities in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the National Armed Forces. The events commenced on Friday, October 31, 2025, with a fun run and aerobics session involving members from the FDS, VDP, and the local community.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the run began at 6:00 a.m. from Solenzo “A” school and concluded after a 2 km circuit back at the school grounds. The participants engaged in aerobic exercises, marking the start of the commemorative activities. Captain Papa Parfait Kambou, commander of the 18th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), highlighted that the commemoration will also feature a cemetery cleanup in Solenzo and a blood donation drive over the 72-hour period.
The High Commissioner of Banwa Province, Sanfienale Joseph Sirima, urged the community to support the fighting forces, expressing optimism that the end of the struggle is near. The nationwide observance is themed “The national armed forces engaged with the people in the progressive popular revolution for a sovereign defense of the territory.”
