SNC 2024: The Minister of Transport calls for caution after the tipping of 5 trucks on the Ouaga-Bobo axis

Ouagadougou: The Minister in charge of Transport, Anûuyirtole Roland Somda, appealed for caution on the road, to drivers, three days before the opening of the National Week of culture (SNC) and after 5 trucks fell on the side of the road linking Ouagadougou to Bobo-Dioulasso.

‘We must take care to change worn tires before traveling and above all rest when we are tired because on the road a few seconds of inattention can have very serious consequences’ launched Minister Somda quoted by his communications service which recalls that 5 goods transport trucks overturned during the night of April 22 to 23, 2024 on the Pa-Bobo-Dioulasso section.

‘In the first case, the owner of the vehicle explains that the cause of the incident would be of technical origin (braking system),’ explains the Ministry of Transport.

The Ouagadougou-Bobo-Dioulasso axis is very accentogenic, particularly between the towns of Boromo and Houndé.

A violent collision that occurred on January 20, 2024 between a coach of a regular company an
d a transport minibus, outside PS, caused at least 10 deaths and 16 serious injuries, out of a total of 35 victims of the accident.

In May 2016, an accident occurred on the same road and near the same area, causing 24 deaths and 36 injuries.

The National Culture Week which opens on April 27 is one of the biggest festivals of Burkinabe culture and attracts a lot of people to this axis.
