The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE granted an audience this Monday morning to a delegation from the Agency for Air Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA). Led by the Director General, Mohamed MOUSSA, the delegation came to inform the Head of State of the Agency’s support for the rehabilitation of Bobo-Dioulasso international airport.
Burkina Faso has undertaken the rehabilitation of Bobo-Dioulasso airport, an important infrastructure for the economic development of the country. The Director General of ASECNA took advantage of this audience to take stock of all that has already been done so far. “We have made new commitments to monitor actions so that this airport can operate in the best conditions in accordance with international rules, so that it is an airport of international occupation which will soon be certified”, explained Mohamed MOUSSA.
The delegation also informed the Head of State of the choice of Burkinabè Louis BAKIENON as Executive Secretary of the African and Malagasy Civil Aviation Authorities AAMAC. “This is an event that constitutes a diplomatic victory for Burkina. (…) We owe this diplomatic victory to the commitment of the State of Burkina Faso, which supported this candidacy”, estimated the Director General of ASECNA.
Louis BAKIENON is according to Mohamed MOUSSA, a pure product of ASECNA, which served the structure in several countries including Senegal, South Sudan, Congo and of course Burkina Faso.
