The refined copper market experienced a significant deficit of 461,000 tonnes in 2022. In a report published on October 4, the International Copper Study Group (ICSG) revised downwards the expected deficit in the refined copper market in 2023 While the institution forecast it at around 114,000 tonnes last April, it now expects a deficit of only 27,000 tonnes. The ICSG also revised upwards the surplus on the world market next year, from 298,000 tonnes previously to 467,000 tonnes now.
