Prison Authority Denies Accusations Made by Prisoner S.R’s Wife Reporting Media Attacks against Her, Her Family

In a statement, the DGAPR said that “the concerned has been relentless for months to disseminate a set of untruths and lies about her husband, especially with regard to his state of health after his alleged hunger strike.”

 

This prompted the General Delegation to “refute her allegations with sufficient clarity through the publication of a number of clarifications in order to enlighten public opinion and remove any ambiguity about the conditions of detention of the prisoner in question.”

 

“The recourse of the aforementioned lady to attacks against the DGAPR, after desperate attempts of a pack that does not shy away from lies and slander, proves the failure of her efforts to undermine the sector of the prison administration and the reputation of its officials,” said the update.

 

The prison authority’s clarification further noted that “public opinion has become aware of the fallacious nature of her allegations and attempts to pose as a victim.”

 

DGAPR reiterates its determination to “continue its communication policy based on openness to public opinion, facing all those who spread lies about the conditions of detention of residents of prisons.”

 

The authority further ensures “the application of the law governing these institutions and guarantees prisoners all the rights accorded them by the law.”
