Gaoua: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo made a field visit this Saturday, August 2, 2025, to inquire about the progress of construction work on the Gaoua Regional University Hospital Center (CHRU). With a total construction cost of 45,916,990,000 CFA francs, this infrastructure will have a capacity of 306 beds, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and will extend over an area of 25 hectares, near the city of the living forces of Gaoua.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Judica«l Tapsoba, project manager of the company Ellipse Projects Belgium, responsible for the works, stated that as of June 30, 2025, the site has a physical execution rate of 54.62%, for a contractual period of 36 months, with delivery scheduled for December 30, 2026. The Head of Government visited, at a sustained pace, all the buildings under construction of the new CHRU, questioning technicians and administrative staff on the different aspects of the project: operating theater, pediatric emergency room, medical imaging, psychiatry, intensive care, among others.
At the end of his visit, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the works. “Launched on November 30, 2023 by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, this project is particularly close to the Government’s heart. Beyond the regular reports we receive, it was important to see the progress directly on the ground. Great efforts are being made. The buildings we visited give us solid reasons for satisfaction, with advanced work and remarkable quality of execution,” he emphasized.
After encouraging the workers and technicians responsible for monitoring the site, the Head of Government urged them to maintain this momentum in order to deliver quality work within the contractual deadline. “We want to show everyone that we are keeping a watchful eye on the progress of this project, eagerly awaited by the entire region, which will welcome patients from several localities, including neighboring countries,” he insisted. This visit is part of the monitoring mechanism established by the Head of Government, aimed at ensuring the quality of the work and compliance with the deadline for the execution of this major infrastructure, which will provide quality care to the populations of the Dj´r´ region.
