President Traore Declares Old Political Mentality Incompatible with Burkina Faso’s Revolution

Ouagadougou: The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, has issued a stern warning against the continuation of outdated political practices amid the country’s ongoing revolution. In a significant address to national and international media, Traore emphasized that the progressive movement underway cannot accommodate those adhering to “the old political mentality” characterized by deception, compromise, and corruption.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traore expressed his view that African politics has often been synonymous with dishonesty and manipulation. He criticized the entrenched culture in Burkina Faso where political connections and party affiliations have historically dictated access to services. Traore lamented that such practices have shaped a political environment that rewards vices, making it increasingly perilous.

Highlighting a shift in mentality among the Burkinabe people, Traore noted that many have embraced the revolutionary spirit. He welcomed those willing to work in alignment with the movement’s goals, stating that individuals who understand and are committed to the revolution’s principles are suited for positions of responsibility.

The President underscored the revolution’s objective to dismantle partisan advantages, ensuring equal access to public services and national resources for all Burkinabe citizens, irrespective of their political ties.
