A practical guide which allocates powers between the Administrative Court and the jurisdictions of the judicial order was drawn up.
The announcement was made Thursday at a meeting in Tunis organised by the Tunis office of Democracy Reporting International (DRI).
Project Manager at DRI Ferdaous Ben Sassi said the document – the first of its kind- will contribute to fill a void in research in judicial and legal areas.
This is a comprehensive reference system of the jurisprudence of the council on conflicts of jurisdiction,
The guide covers a period of over twenty years starting May 1999 – the date of the first decision rendered by the council.
The document, Ben Sassi said, outlines nearly 500 decisions, in addition to the judicial principes established by the council.
This will provide a thorough analysis of the way legal prerogatives are allocated in Tunisia and identify specialised courts.
The meeting is part of the second phase of the project Justice, the Sovereignty of Law, Human Rights and Instituti
ons implemented by Democraty Reporting International, with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
DRI is a NGO created in 2006 in Berlin, Germany. The organisation, active in Tunisia since 2011, has been supporting its civil society parteners and governmental and judicial institutions.
