An extraordinary plenary session of Heads of Canton, heads of villages, lands and sectors was held this Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in Bobo-Dioulasso in the Royal Palace of His Majesty Chief of Canton, Supreme Chief of Bobo-Madèrè. Objective, play their part in the peace effort.
Customary and traditional leaders discussed their participation in the peace effort following the appeal of the President of the Transition and their contribution to the prevention of violent extremism.
They also planned to participate in the day of prayer and fasting throughout the National territory, scheduled for this Saturday, May 20, 2023.
By mutual agreement, the Cantons of Bobo-Dioulasso, Dédougou, Banfora, Gaoua and all the village, land and sector heads will allocate an envelope and food backed by rituals and sacrifices to play their part to the peace effort requested by the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
Very soon the content of the measures taken will be unveiled in unison and handed over to the Governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, according to a well-introduced source.
On the sidelines of this plenary session, His Majesty Sidiki Sanou handed over food to the poor, the families of the pillars of SYA, the heads of villages, lands and sectors.
